Thoughts on the LLT by Gregory Crane, Humboldt-Professor for Digital Humanities in Leipzig

Morphological and syntactic analysis are nothing new -- they have been foundation for our learning and analyzing Greek and Latin for thousands of years. But now we are able to use morphological and syntactic data in wholly new ways, providing inexhaustible and precise feedback for learners and placing our understanding of the language on an explicit, citable, quantifiable foundation. The road block is getting useful analyses.

The Latin Language Toolkit is a huge step forward in this regard and could, with a bit more support, provide the breakthrough that we need.
